Not a poem. Just a discussion about Bob's new typewriter. Funny! Anyu and Apu (my parents) are in Hungary for Christmas this year, so I want to send them a gift through the miracle of the technology! Ha Ha! I know Anyu has a special place in her heart for Silent Night..especially the Hungarian version. So, I looked up the lyrics last week and practiced for several days. You'll see me referring to the words once in a while just so I wouldn't mess them up. The restaurant still had some people at tables and the waitresses were cleaning up (since it was the end of the night) but hopefully you can hear it well enough. Just turn up the volume if you need to. Kellemes Karácsonyi Ünnepeket Kívánok Mindenkinek! (I Wish Everyone a Merry Christmas!) I hope you enjoy it... The night after Thanksgiving, my friends and I went to Classic Quiche to have a lighter meal after stuffing ourselves silly the day before. We were in luck when Joe came in and said his gig was cancelled; so we got to hear him play and, of course, I sang...but this time not alone. My friend, Tagore, sang along with me. Afterwards, Tagore played guitar and Joe sang Girl from Ipenema in Portuguese. A truly lovely evening. Joe Sciarrone (guitar player) and Mike Richmond (Bass) are so very encouraging. Here is a video of a few takes. Joe kept telling me I could sing in a higher key; which I didn't think I could. But I did and I didn't sound half bad! It was such a fun night. There are times in life, when moments like these are so very special and needed. We had a lot of laughs...especially when I got a hot flash in the middle of the song and opened my jacket! Enjoy and have a good laugh. |
